NICRODUR 400 is a wear-resistant steel plate boasting a nominal hardness of 400 HBW. Its composition typically includes carbon (0.12–0.22%), manganese (1.0–1.6%), silicon (0.2–0.5%), chromium (0.5–1.5%), along with trace amounts of nickel and molybdenum, all of which enhance its strength and hardenability. The mechanical properties feature a tensile strength of about 1250 MPa and a yield strength near 1000 MPa, coupled with excellent impact resistance. This specific makeup ensures that NICRODUR 400 can withstand abrasion and mechanical wear, making it ideal for tough service conditions without sacrificing machinability or weldability.
