SA 515 Grade 60 plates and sheets are carbon-silicon steel alloys that find their major application in intermediate and higher temperatures of service in pressure vessels welded together. The chemical analysis constitutes carbon (0.13–0.21%), manganese (0.60–1.00%), phosphorus (max 0.035%), and sulfur (max 0.035%). Mechanically, it provides a minimum tensile strength of 415–550 MPa and minimum yield strength of 260 MPa and is well ductile and weldable. The plates are normalized for better toughness and pressure performance for use under critical environments and stress conditions.
