Its chemical makeup includes carbon (≤0.15%), manganese (0.95–1.35%), phosphorus (≤0.15%), sulfur (≤0.05%), copper (0.50–1.00%), chromium (0.40–0.65%), and nickel (≤0.50%). With a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa and a tensile strength ranging from 480 to 620 MPa, this steel is designed to create a stable, protective oxide layer when exposed to the elements.
